Former Idol Finalist Helton Says He's Gay

Former American Idol contestant R.J. Helton, 25, announced that he is gay while on SIRIUS Satellite Radio host Larry Flick's show "OutQ in the Morning" on Wednesday.

During the on-air interview, Flick asked Helton – who'd been in the top five on the first season of the hit FOX show – why he was no longer performing inspirational music.

Replied the singer, whose full name is Richard Jason Helton: "I can have a faith but can't be who I want to be. So a lot of it was just personal things I needed to overcome and just be proud of who I was. … Just because I am gay does not mean I can't love God." (Helton's 2004 Christian music album Real Life sold more than 20,000 copies.)

"Well there you go," said Flick. "Congratulations. "This is something that I wasn't sure you were going to talk about on the air today, so what made you decide to come out?"

Said Helton: "Today, this morning, three seconds ago … I've never even said that. It feels good."

Expanding on that, Helton said, "It does feel great. It feels good. I'm just really comfortable with who I am now. I'm very proud of who I am."

Helton's announcement made news on the same day that Grey's Anatomy star T.R. Knight, 33, told PEOPLE exclusively, "I guess there have been a fewquestions about my sexuality, and I'd like to quiet any unnecessary rumors that may be out there. While I prefer to keep my personal life private, I hope the fact that I'm gay isn't the most interesting part of me."

World Class Championship Wrestling

When did you start watching wrestling?

 

I started to watch REAL wrestling shortly after The Von Erichs/The Freebirds started to fued in World Class area in Dallas.

It was the early 1980's.

Back then, the fued was quite popular.

The Freedbirds - Michael Hayes, Terry Grody and Buddy Roberts - was my favourites rulebreakers.

Few months ago, I learned that The Freebirds won their first tag titles on my birthday.

There is no wonder I loved The Freebirds.

The Von Erichs - David, Kevin, Kerry, Mike and Chris, was my favourite too.

All but one (Kevin) died.

David died from a drug overdose in Japan.

Kerry, Mike and Chris KILLED themselves.

I have fond memories of World Class.

At the first David Von Erich Memorial Card at Texas Stadium, Kerry Von Erich won the NWA World Title from The Nature Boy Rick Flair, in David's honor.

Of course, the fan went wild for Kerry Von Erich

Kerry hold the belt for three weeks, then he lost it back to Rick Flair.

World Class Championship Wrestling was so much fun to watch.

I remembered I skipped church to watch World Class on Channel 39 at 11 AM on Sundays.

I also watched Championship Sports every saturday night at 10 PM on Channel 11 KTVT. The wrestling show was two hours.

i was too tired to go to church the next day.

Other major feuds in World Class during this period included Chris Adams & Sunshine vs. Garvin & Precious, Adams and Gino Hernandez vs.The Von Erichs, Missy Hyatt vs. Sunshine, and The Fantastics vs. The Midnight Express.

There was the good ole days.




Whosoever have WORLD CLASS tapes, let me know.

I will love to get my hands on the tapes again.

As The World Turns

I watched ATWT on and off most of my life.

 

MY mother watched that soap FOREVER.

 

Like most mothers, she got me started on the soaps.

 

My mother's favourite is Holden and Lily, her all time favrourite couple.

 

for me, I got to go with Luke.

 

Hopefully, with the gay storyline, mum will understand me much better.

 

she would get a better understanding.

 

mum and i hardly talk about it.

 

I hoped the gay storyline would open up her eyes, thanx to her favourite couple, Holden and Lily, and mine, Luke.

 

I couldn't plan it any better for my mum.

Dancing With Nick Newman

I just hoped you watch Dancing With The Stars tonight.

You wouldn't believe who i saw.

It was NICK NEWMAN!!

Yes, Joshua Morrow!

After Emmett dance with his partner, they showed the front row and  Joshua was standing, clapping and cheering.

You can't miss him.

It seems like Joshua was on for TEN SECONDS.

It was a complete suprise to see him on an ABC SHOW!

 

Update: My good friend, Jermahon, confirmed it was indeed Joshua Morrow. She thought her eyes were decieving her. Me too! LOL

Last Wednesday

Well, I talked to the apartment manager.

He showed me the papers.....really, the list.

He mentioned it got something to do with the Ulities.

Yes, folks, i am a bad speller!

I am too sleepy to check the spelling.

I will do it tomorrow.

Much to my suprise, everyone in the apartments OLE them money.

I found that VERY strange.

How could everyone old them money?

That's nuts!

Come on now.

Everyone pays their rent every month.

I ole them money for May and June.

Honey child, I won't pay them at all.

I paid my rent for those months.

I gave the manager my reciepts.

He made copies of them and faxed them to the landlord.

I need to wait for the latest.

Wait till they find out I won't pay them!

I don't think they could evict me at all.

No News

There was no news about the money I ole the landlord.

I checked things out this morning. the office door was closed. Then I noticed that the apartment manager was coming out of his apartment.

I asked about the latest.

He mentioned he would meet up with the landlord today to discuss the money.

Both would try to find out the so called months i ole.

I waited for him to get out of the elevator.

I pointed out to him that it was before his time. He knows I always paid him the rent on time.

Hopefully, I would know about the latest TOMORROW.

So much, I want to get it over with.

I know I don't ole them any money.

 

Something came to me yesterday.

I remembered few months ago that a upstairs neighbor told me that he ole them some money for missing rent.

i didn't follow up with him thou. I have no ideal if he paid them.

Strongly, I assumed the neighbor and me are connected.

I had a feeling that it was a inside job. Someone stole our money orders for the rent.

That must be the case.

We didn't have a apartment manager for about two months. we just slipped the rent under the office door. Still, I didn't recieve a rent receipts for those two months.

I haven't ask the apartment manager about that yet.

Maybe, there are others I don't know about.

I need to ask around. My first stop is the black neighbor.

Miguel's resume

Miguel came over this evening. I helped him to update his resume. His roomie wouldn't help him; he was too busy drinking every day.

Miguel won't put his last job on the resume. His former boss claimed he walked out on ths job. Truthfully, he told him that he was no longer needed at the job.

Miguel is trying to get unemployment checks, but, thanx to the ex boss, he may not get the money at all.

Update

Yesterday, the apartment manager told me that the landlord CLAIMED I ole them some money for rent few months ago.

i found that ODD and STRANGE.

I know in my heart that I paid my rent every month. Most times, I am the one to pay the rent first.

So, last night, I went through the old papers and found all the money orders reciepts. I am good for it.

I even SCANNED the reciepts for the computer.

the funny thing is the landlord haven't told the NEW apartment manager the months I ole.

the NEW apartment manager wasn't around back then. he is in the dark as much i am.

i am still waiting to hear from the apartment manager.
